evacuated

The Capertons are officially out of Lafayette, but we didn't go very far. At 4pm today, it seemed like a great idea to pack for five days, hop in the car, and drive on to Northwest Arkansas for a short visit. As we drove on, and realized slowly that our kids were going to be unhappy for most of the voyage, we came to grips with reality and started working on plan B.

Plan B is hanging out in Alexandria, LA with Kristy's aunt, uncle, and cousin for a couple of days until Rita blows over. So we've evacuated 100 miles north, and believe it or not, it was worth it. Sorry to all who had their hopes up for a quicker return to NWA [we're coming over Christmas, don't worry], we'll be there soon enough.

When you're praying for us in this, please ask God to tear the roof of our addition off our house. That's the part with all the mold in it, so if the hurricane blows it off, then we'll have some financial help in repairing it. Hey, it's not criminal if it truly is an act of God.

When I started reading your blog, I was excited. I wondered today if you might hop up to NWA. Then I read you weren't coming up here, and I cried a single, solitary tear. Just kidding, but I miss y'all...
