Triple Six

I wonder if a 666 on your gamecube is the same as one on your forehead or wrist. The big triple six has come up twice in my gamecube in strange ways.

The first was right after the ebay auction [how I bought the gamecube] ended. I received the package of gamecube goodness and went to leave feedback for the seller. After I left it, I noticed that my feedback was the one to put their feedback score at exactly 666. [Insert dramatic organ sound bite here]

The second time it came up was when I was checking my point total on a game [NCAA Football 2005], something I very rarely do, and it was exactly at 666. I realize this one seems less eerie than the first, but it was only the second time I'd ever checked that score.

So, after two triple sixes, I'm gonig to be on my toes to watch for a third or fourth. But part of me sometimes thinks that the way we fear 666 is like the way we fear black cats crossing our paths. I know there were no black cats in Revelation, but I'm not sure how much we're honoring God or just being superstitious when we gasp at a 666.

All the same, if the government decides one day to mandate the triple six on my forehead, wrist, [or gamecube], I'll be sure to err on the side of caution as I liquidate my assets and skip the freakin' country!

By the way, did you count the number of 666's in this email, there are SIX of them! Man, I hope this blog isn't cursed now...

I thought about posting six hundred and sixty-six comments on this post, so it would freak you out when you saw there were 666 comments.

But that's a lot of work.

...and to make matters worse. When I woke up this morning, my site counter was exactly on 13 ...hundred. That's another unlucky number! I really wonder if people would take the number 13 on their wrist or forehead.

What if you were hanging a mirror up so high that you were on top of a ladder and out of no where a black cat that had 666 shaven into its fur 13 times walked under the very ladder that you were atop and it scared you so bad that you dropped the mirror shattering into, gasp, 666 peices?

Wicked cool..........

"Father, I was just kidding about all of that stuff. Please forgive me if I was in the wrong for typing about HOW FREAKING STUPID AND PARANOID PEOPLE ARE ABOUT SUPERSTIONS CRAP!!"

-Amen :)
